About KPI
KPI Construction Services is one of the fastest-growing traffic management and labour hire providers on the east coast, with more than 700 personnel across Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales. We keep major construction, civil and infrastructure projects moving — safely, compliantly and on schedule.
Our fleet is the backbone of the operation. We’re looking for someone to take ownership of it.
The Role
We have an opening for a hands-on Fleet Coordinator / Supervisor based at our Dandenong South depot. This is a blended role — part workshop, part coordination — ideal for a qualified mechanic or experienced fleet hand who wants real ownership and genuine variety.
You’ll keep our fleet of utes, light trucks and heavy vehicles roadworthy, compliant and ready to deploy, while coordinating servicing, repairs and registrations across the business. No two days are the same.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Carry out general and preventative maintenance across the fleet — utes, light trucks and heavy vehicles
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, and coordinate external specialists where required
• Manage the servicing schedule, registrations, roadworthy certificates and compliance for every vehicle
• Conduct pre-deployment and return-to-yard inspections, keeping vehicles safe and presentable
• Maintain accurate fleet, maintenance and asset records
• Manage consumables and supplies, including reordering
• Supervise and support yard and fleet staff, setting the standard for safety and presentation
• Liaise with operations to ensure the right vehicles are available, where and when they’re needed
• Champion a strong safety culture and compliance with KPI’s integrated management system and all relevant regulations
What You’ll Bring
• A mechanical trade background — Certificate III in Light and/or Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Mobile Plant, or equivalent hands-on experience would be highly regarded
• Proven experience maintaining a mixed fleet of light and heavy vehicles
• A current driver’s licence; HR or HC licence highly regarded (or a willingness to obtain one)
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• Sound knowledge of vehicle compliance, roadworthy and chain-of-responsibility requirements
• Good organisation and the ability to juggle competing priorities under pressure
• Experience with fleet or asset management systems (desirable)
• A reliable, self-driven attitude and the ability to lead by example
What’s On Offer
• A permanent, full-time role with a growing national business
• Competitive salary, negotiable on experience
• Genuine ownership and the opportunity to shape how the fleet runs
• A modern, well-maintained fleet and a supportive, down-to-earth team
• Long-term career growth as KPI continues to expand
